2.4 The time of Adamís creation

The time of Adamís creation

This is a study help to study the patriarchs. The 22 patriarchs of the Bible, which are mentioned in the first book of the Bible, Genesis, are listed here.

This chronology also shows that one can determine when Adam was created.

The list of the 22 patriarchs is followed by notes which deal with certain details of the listed data.

And now the table (the notes follow afterwards):

And now come the notes:

Note No. 1
On the next webpage this list is shown as a bar chart where the length of life of each of the 22 patriarchs can be seen in the form of a bar. It emphasizes visibly the difference between the length of life before the flood and the much shorter length of life after the flood: 2.5 Bar chart of the lives of the 22 patriarchs.

Note No. 2
On the then following webpage, 2.6 Bar chart of the lives of Israel's patriarchs, specially the patriarchs of Israel are shown: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph.

Note No. 3
After that follows 2.7 Bar chart of the first Israelites, and it shows further details in the life of Jacob, also called Israel, and his eleventh son Joseph, and their stay in Egypt.

Note No. 4
Then follows 2.8 Bar chart of the Israelites. It shows the different existences of the Israelites in the totality of their existence of more than 4000 years, so from the start, from Jacob, until today, and also of the totality of the existence of mankind beginning from Adam.

Note No. 5
The above chronological table shown on this webpage demonstrates that one can determine from the data of the Bible when Adam was created. The starting point is the year 966 before Christ when the building of the temple was begun. This year is known from secular history. When one then calculates back from this year one comes to the year 4174 before Christ as the year when Adam was created.

Note No. 6
The importance of the sons is not that they have to be the eldest but whether they are ancestors of Jesus, whether they therefore belong to the line Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Cain and Abel are the better-known sons of Adam but Seth was the one who belonged to this line.

Note No. 7
The only uncertainty in this chronological table is the year of the birth of Abram. According to Genesis 12:4 Abram was 75 years old when he departed out of Haran. And according to Acts 7:4 Abraham removed himself from Charan when his father was dead. So this chronological table assumes that Abraham did this the same year his father died, as the time after the death of his father is not given.

Note No. 8
The year of Abraham's birth, 2008 after Adam, therefore results from the year of his father Terah's death, 2083 after Adam, from which 75 years were deducted.

Note No. 9
In order to understand the calculation of this chronological table one has to start at the bottom corner on the right-hand side with the year 966 and then work upwards to end at the corner of the upper right-hand side with the year 4174. One also could just add the two figures of the lowest row: 3208 + 966 = 4174, to come to the same result.
